My engagement/Customary marriage

Created by Dorcas 3 years ago

My memories of Auntie Edue as I have always called her stem back to my adolescent years. She was a good friend to my parents-the lady with style; perfectly made up and in her characteristic large, long  earrings high heels, and lovely outfits.

One particular memory stands in my mind of Auntie Edue entering my parental home on the morning of my customary marriage/engagement in Ghana. She was  with a group representing my husband to be's family. She looked as stylish and striking as ever dressed in a beautiful lilac long dress ,looking every inch the part for that occasion.

For many years after that ( and that was over 26 years ago), she would refer to that occasion with fondness.

Dear Auntie Edue, your cheerful spirit and warm, welcoming nature will not be forgotten.

Rest peacefully in the presence of our Lord Jesus until we meet again.

With Love,
