Beautiful and loving hearted Edue Blay and I met in early elementary Methodist School in Sekondi and started our childhood relationship that matured and deepened over the years. We were close, and as close friends we also had differences, but we loved and supported each other.

Whenever I was home in Ghana, she found time to travel down to Sekondi where we were brought up and gave me all the support I needed. Whenever she came to the UK, Edie spent a lot of time with me attending all social engagements of my many associations and clubs in both Farnham where I used to live and Guildford where I live now.

Edie loved life and loved people who came across her life. She liked hugging and kissing friends and family on the lips. I always told her I prefer a kiss on the cheek.

In 2012 she came to join her late daughter Selina and enjoy the rest of her life here in the UK.

I was devastated when she experienced her 1st amputation and then another on her other leg. She also went into a coma for 2 weeks but praise God she survived this.

Edie was a fighter and hand the strong will to live. Even though life was not the same after this, she still tried to enjoy her life in the UK and we regularly caught up with each other by phone. I was shocked to hear of her passing, but I know that at last, she is at rest and peace with the Lord.

Edie I love you and will really miss you. Tilly💕
